December 2002

Please note, meeting is on Wednesday, Feb 12 and Thursday, Feb 13.

As announced in June 2002, the next SEAFLUX meeting is scheduled for Feb 12-13, 2003, in conjunction with the AMS annual meeting and the 12th Conference on Interactions of the Sea and Atmosphere Feb 9-13, 2003 . The location of the meeting is the Long Beach Convention Center, Long Beach, California. Information about meeting logistics is available at the AMS web site http://www.ametsoc.org/AMS/. Registration for the AMS meeting is not required to attend the SEAFLUX workshop. If you plan to attend the AMS meeting, you will receive a discount if you register before Dec 3. Register for a hotel soon; some of the more desirable locations are already sold out.

The workshop will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb 12, and end at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb 13. The format of the workshop will be similar to the previous one. Participants can make brief presentations on topics directly relevant to SEAFLUX:

Presentations should emphasize new developments since the last workshop. If you would like to make a brief presentation at the workshop, please email me a title or brief description. The workshop is open to anyone who wants to attend; registration isn't necessary. But it would be useful for planning purposes to know if you plan to attend, even if you don't intend to make a presentation.

Near the end of January, I will send out a meeting agenda along with the specific location of the meeting room.
