ASEN/ATOC 5235 Remote Sensing of the Atmosphere and Oceans
Homework #1: Satellite Missions
Due: Friday January 26, 2001
Go to the course web page, links, satellite missions (http://paos.colorado.edu/5235/satmiss.html). Select 8 (eight) satellite missions to examine (if you would like to use a mission not on the links, that is fine, but please include web adress). In a brief paragraph for each mission, describe the following:
- The name of the satellite mission (what the acronym stands for)
- The orbital characteristics of the satellite (orbit, inclination, swath width, etc)
- The remote sensing instruments carried on the satellite
- The retrieved geophysical parameters
- The primary scientific objective of the mission.
